Kent-based speciality paper and cartonboard supplier, Chapelton, has underlined the high environmental qualities of its TwinCoat GT1 recycled board product, which it distributes into the UK and Irish and packaging sector on behalf of Smurfit Kappa.

TwinCoat GT1 is a two-sided, fully coated white lined chipboard, with print capabilities on both the top and reverse side and it is produced from 100 per cent recycled fibres.

Additionally, TwinCoat GT1 is also available as either Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certified, due to the sourcing of the material used in its production originating from sustainably managed sources.

With a fully coated white topside, TwinCoat consists of a grey inner layer, together with a fully coated white reverse layer. Due to its construction and high printability qualities, TwinCoat can be seen as an ideal alternative for other qualities that are now no longer available in the UK.

Produced from renewable raw materials, TwinCoat GT1 is also a viable alternative to virgin board products, and can be used for all types of packaging applications, including consumer and industrial packaging, and also as a food and drink packaging material.

Commenting on the suitability for the UK and Irish folding carton packaging sector, Chapelton business development director, Neil Skelton, said: “TwinCoat is suitable for various end uses from display products, graphical end uses through to multiple packaging applications. The quality and service levels from Smurfit Kappa are excellent and we expect to be able to make great strides in the UK and Ireland with this material.”

TwinCoat GT1 is produced in weights ranging from 300gsm to 550gsm.

Chapelton is one of the leading independent paper and board suppliers, with a 30-year trading history operating from a facility in Aylesford, Kent stocking an array of cartonboard, paper and speciality products.
