Dantex’s UV press solution for the labelling market
On a recent visit to the headquarters of UK-based letterpress and flexo plate manufacturer, Dantex, in Bradford, Converter editor Jack Cheeseman was given a tour of the company’s leading machinery solutions for water washing photopolymer plates and processing equipment.
Having served the packaging industry for almost 50 years, Dantex has become one of the largest distributors of equipment in Europe; the company itself has expanded and set up subsidiaries all over the world.
While he was there, Jack was shown Dantex’s latest development. The PicoColour UV inkjet digital label press from is a versatile, small footprint label printing system. PicoColour is suitable for short and long run jobs and offers all the benefits of digital printing for today’s demanding production environment – no minimum quantity, no waste and super fast turnaround.
It prints widths up to 210mm and has the flexibility to print on a variety of different substrates. It can print on thicknesses of 30 microns up to 320 microns. It can also achieve a maximum print speed of 35m per minute. Also, with no plate making, no press make-ready and with every copy perfect from the very first label, PicoColour improves profitability of the job run, whether long or short.
The machine puts the user in control, allowing them to prioritise jobs by run length for greater efficiency and faster turnaround.
