Folder gluer to help carton manufacturer extend its finishing capabilities
Carton manufacturer Jaymar Packaging based in Crewe, UK is extending the capacity and capabilities of its finishing department with the purchase of a BOBST Ambition 76 folder gluer. An A1 variant of the folder-gluer and capable of handling both straight-line and crash-lock cartons, it will be installed in March 2012.
“This will be our third Bobst folder-gluer and we see it as playing a key role in the further success of the business,” comments company director Craig Street. “We will run our more straightforward work alongside our existing highly specified Bobst Fuego and Mistral lines, freeing them up to run the complex jobs that they handle so well. It means we will have both extra capacity in the plant and improved productivity on our other lines.”
Jaymar Packaging is a long time collaborator with Bobst in working to develop enhancements for the range of folder-gluers.
“The work we have done with Bobst in the past, along with the success of the Mistral and Fuego installations, meant that it was a natural choice to discuss our plans for improving the department’s workflow with them,” continues Street. “We also value the support we get from the Bobst Group Product Specialists that are based here in the UK.”
