Green reps help packagers and converters

CONVERTING AND packaging companies can learn an environmental trick or two from a regional project set up by the UK trades union representative body, the TUC. From looking at energy use to reducing waste and improving transport options; the Green Workplaces Project is attaining an enviable record in championing environmental issues.

It supports and trains a network of Green representatives across the South West of the UK who work with employers to make the workplace greener and more environmentally efficient. The aim is to find practical solutions that reps can bring to the workplace.

Green Reps can help the packaging industry by acting as a link between staff and management to encourage change through the workforce.

The Green Workplaces Project is funded by the South West Regional Development Agency with a brief to encourage a low-carbon economy that respects the limits of natural resources. The Green Workplaces Project is running a series of one-day Cut Carbon, Not Jobs workshops in October across the South.
