Internet service for reducing spare parts inventories

An internet-based service has been launched to assist companies move on their surplus stock of OEM spare parts. The B2B dedicated service www.oembay.co.uk allows companies to list unwanted spares under industry specific categories for sale which once sold will reduce inventories and bring in additional revenue into the company profit/loss accounts.
OEMbay realised the need for such a service from extensive research with blue chip companies within the UK corrugating and packaging industries. Many companies are left with spare parts for machines they no longer use which clutter the stores and sit on the company books for years.
By using this new service companies can not only release shelf space in their stores but also bring money back into the company. One multi-national group currently implementing SAP software is using the opportunity to list surplus spare parts for a Bobst SPO 1600 die cutter. The machine was replaced by new equipment so the customer can omit the parts from their SAP inventory.
Market sectors on the site currently include packaging, printing, converting and corrugated. However, the potential to serve other commercial Industries is endless. Sectors and product categories will be expanded to assist all businesses towards earning money from surplus OEM parts.
