Staeger invests £250,000 in die cutting machine

As part of its ongoing drive towards offering customers world class products and services Staeger Clear Packaging has invested in new cutting and embossing equipment at its state of the art production operation.

A new £250,000 Heidelberg 105 CS die cutting and embossing machine provides double the running speeds of previous equipment with automatic stripping, direct feed from pallet and automatic changeover between stacks.

“The machine is performing well and proving to be a good investment,” comments managing director Ian Jamie.

“We have benefited from the first class customer service, training and back-up from Heidelberg. The 105 CS will greatly assist in the production of plastic packaging for markets including cut flowers and potted plants – one of our recent success stories.”

Staeger is at the forefront of development of the market for recycled PET under the recyClear brand which accounts for 90% of the company`s turnover. The company has set ambitious sales growth targets with a projected turnover of £8million in five years time.

New lid, base and tube making equipment installed in 2011 will aid the achievement of these figures.

“We have excellent relations with the leading retailers and FMCG producers in the UK and are looking to export to emerging markets for further growth,” concludes Jamie.

“Our single site facility has given us the potential for further expansion including offering customers the Total Packaging Solution whereby we take care of all their packaging needs.

“We will pursue these and further opportunities in the coming year.”
