US: Cost-effective controller
MAGPOWR HAS announced the Spyder Plus tension control for load cell tension control, open-loop systems and dancer applications.
Designed for applications where cost and machine space are primary concerns, the Spyder Plus is a cost-effective control for brakes, clutches or drives. Spyder Plus can be mounted remotely and easily integrated with an existing PLC or remote PC. A basic LCD readout and user-friendly keypad allows local control over simple tuning, adjustable taper tension and security lockout without constant attention or special training.
Spyder Plus has powerful features for dancer applications that were once only available with more expensive controls. Dancer mode now allows the ability to use load cells to monitor web tension, while remote set point adjustment improves efficiency, especially when multiple controls are used in the same application. Spyder Plus also works with third party ultrasonic or laser sensors to determine roll diameter.
