Appointment of new CFO at Xaar

Xaar, the digital inkjet printing technology group headquartered in Cambridge, UK, has announced the appointment of Lily Liu as chief financial officer, company secretary and director of the board from May 2, 2017.

Liu has spent the past four years at FTSE 100 Smiths Group PLC, where she has held a number of senior financial and management roles. Most recently, from 2014 to 2016, Liu was CFO of the Smiths Detection Division, with reported revenues of £526m for financial year 2016. Prior to this, Liu was director of financial planning and performance analysis at the group level, reporting to the group chief financial officer.

From 2005 to 2012 and before joining Smiths, Liu was with Edwards Ltd, dealing in the manufacture and supply of industrial vacuum systems.

Liu has an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a BA in Economics from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. She is also a chartered management accountant.
