DataLase builds on digital market growth

150445-PhdM-Datalase-Shampoo-Variprint-PRINT-v2DataLase, UK headquartered inline digital printing experts, are entering a new and exciting phase of growth with their anticipated global launch of a range of digital printing solutions, meeting the needs of brand owners for late stage customisation of products and packaging.

DataLase proudly holds a portfolio of unique patented materials and solutions, developed over several years, which enable the high speed, inline digital printing of products and packaging with lasers.  Having continued to see strong growth of its install base throughout Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, the company is extremely well positioned to now take advantage of this key trend.

One of the new digital printing platforms launched by DataLase is Variprint.  This innovative solution combines DataLase core colour-change materials technology, with the next generation of ultra-high performance laser print engines, to deliver high speed, high resolution, on-demand digital printing. Enabling brand owners to digitally print products and packaging in-line at full line speeds, ensures they realise the maximum benefit from late stage customisation without the traditional upfront large capital requirements typical of out of line digital solutions.

Variprint materials can also be incorporated into a broad range of coatings, including water-based, solvent-based and UV curable systems, allowing virtually any substrate to be digitally printed. In combination with the scalable modular design of the Variprint print engine, this allows a diverse range of applications to be addressed including high speed coding and marking, mailing, inline digital printing of labels and packaging, late stage customisation of corrugated cases and direct decoration of bottles and closures.

DataLase CEO, Chris Wyres, commented: “Variprint is the first of an exciting range of digital print solutions that we are bringing to market with the support of our strategic partners. Our unique technology platforms have been designed to meet the needs of brand owners and deliver enhanced flexibility, quality, productivity and consumer interaction.”

We have continually invested in technology innovation and development of our strategic partnerships, unlocking substantial growth opportunities. We began by establishing ourselves in the coding and marking sector but we are now looking to leverage our technologies into full inline digital printing for products and packaging – a true breakthrough in the market.  The digital sector is growing rapidly and we are perfectly placed to offer brand owners and printers a unique solution to their needs.”

All the latest DataLase developments will be showcased and discussed at Drupa 2016, the largest printing equipment exhibition in the world.  Taking place between May 31 and June 10th 2016, in Düsseldorf, Germany, DataLase will be exhibiting a number of their latest groundbreaking innovations.
