INNOVIA’S SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING SOLUTIONS
Innovia Films will be showcasing their range of Propafilm™ Strata high barrier films and the new Propafilm™ Encore carbon neutral film range at Packaging Innovations this month.
Propafilm™ Strata SL a transparent high barrier packaging film designed to be a standalone mono filmic solution or, to be used in laminate constructions was launched last year. It has a very effective barrier to aroma, mineral oils and oxygen even at high relative humidity levels ensuring increased shelf life and reduced food waste. The film is also food contact compliant and chlorine free.
Working with Interseroh, an Independent German recycling and consulting company, Innovia had their Strata SL film evaluated. The result of their stringent review was a very good rating and the film was certified recyclable and awarded the ‘Made for recycling’ logo.
Innovia decided to extend the testing programme across all its uncoated, acrylic coated and EVOH barrier range of films. They were all confirmed recyclable.
New to the range are Propafilm™ Encore films, a family of fully functional, recyclable BOPP films that are carbon neutral and manufactured from renewable raw materials. The family contains recycled content and is fully food contact compliant. The properties of Encore films are identical to the equivalent fossil based BOPP film.
