Production efficiency can be enhanced with the right drying technology and at The Print Show (17-19 September at the NEC) IST(UK) will demonstrate the latest solutions for the commercial and packaging and labels printers that offer a really good return on investment. This will give printers a peak preview of some of the developments also on show at LabelExpo in Brussels the following week.

Joint managing directors Chris Schofield and Simon Mitchell
“We have signed up for The Print Show because we want to get the message out that we can offer solutions on existing presses with a quick, easy and cost-effective retrofit in addition to helping customers choose the right drying solution for new press orders,” says Simon Mitchell, joint managing director. “We are able to offer many different drying products for litho, flexo and digital printing presses. As specialists in this technology, we are happy to answer any questions at the show, however basic or technical and including information on the best inks and chemistry to use. Visitors will be welcome at our stand.”
The head turner will be the LEDcure SCR, an innovative product that can be retrofitted on offset and flexo presses. As its name implies it is an LED-UV solution, a means of adding this low energy and sustainability responsible drying option. There is no warm up or cooling time; it is an on or off product to minimise energy usage. It is available in 270mm and 540mm lengths, depending on the application and it can be run with the IST METZ XT8-Booster to give 30% more power than other systems on the market.
Chris Schofield, joint MD, adds: “Commercial printers are expected to supply shorter and shorter runs to tighter and tighter deadlines so there is a groundswell of interest in, and installations of UV, LED-UV and LE-UV systems. To be able to take dry sheets from press straight into finishing without fear of marking makes a significant difference to lead times and service levels as well as providing an improvement in the aesthetics of a product. In addition to the energy advantages of the newer UV systems, spray powder is eliminated which makes for a much more comfortable working environment.”
Retrofits of LE-UV or LED-UV systems are available for on site installation in just one or two days (five or six for standard UV). All IST (UK) retrofits are provided with a 12 month warranty which printers can extend with a supplementary service agreement.
IST (UK) operates out of a a 400m² facility in Skipton which includes training and presentation areas, systems and spares storage as well as being the main base for the sales and service team.
