LLFlex to Open New North Carolina Manufacturing Facility in January 2020

LLFlex – a global leader in packaging materials and industrial laminate solutions for the building & construction, wire & cable, tobacco and other consumer packaging industries – is set to open a new 73,500-square-foot fully integrated manufacturing facility in High Point, North Carolina, that will provide the company’s premium products and services to customers in the US and abroad.

The new plant will significantly expand LLFlex’s output capacity and include equipment supporting both of its two main business segments, Packaging and Industrial Laminates.

The expansive, modern facility will initially employ approximately 30 new personnel and run two eight-hour shifts. Projected growth will create an estimated 15-20 additional jobs, bringing the total to around 50 employees over the next 2 years. The plant will be fully temperature and humidity controlled, and will be cGMP compliant, Foreign Trade Zone certified and ISO 9001:2015 accredited.

The plant will house high-speed, high-efficiency equipment for custom laminating, coating, embossing, and slitting to address growing product demand. Staffed with an innovative and knowledgeable team, the facility will utilize state-of-the-art automated slitting and packaging robotics to provide short lead times and customized solutions.

For the company’s Packaging segment, which comprises solutions for the tobacco, consumer and healthcare markets, a new laminator with two solvent coating stations and a new slitter will provide additional annual capacity of more than 20 million lbs. of product. These assets will supplement – and provide supply chain risk mitigation for – LLFlex’s existing Louisville facility by manufacturing innerfoil and printed innerframe for tobacco packaging, laminated folding carton stock, label and base stock for lotto/gaming, laminated convolute canister stock and many other unique products for various packaging applications.

For the Industrial Laminates segment, which caters to the wire & cable, building & construction and other industrial markets, a new laminator with multiple coating stations and dedicated slitter will be complemented by a new steel, copper and aluminum slitter with an annual capacity of 40 million lbs.

The substantial facility gives LLFlex sufficient room for production growth and ample space for a regional warehouse, distribution and logistics center. The company also plans to add a variety of new infrastructure over time, including additional laminators, slitters and other ancillary production equipment.

“The new facility is a culmination of our commitment to customer service, production excellence and market share growth,” said Victor Dixon, CEO of LLFlex. “The new space, new equipment and new team members all add value in terms of manufacturing expertise, quality control, innovative product ideation and value-added industry partnerships. Each of these strengths has allowed LLFlex to offer optimized customer service, and helped reaffirm the company’s legacy as a leader in the industries it serves.”
