Masterpress S.A. receives Certificate of Merit at 2020 AWA International Sleeve Label Awards
The European shrink sleeve and pressure-sensitive label manufacturer was was honoured with the “Certificate of Merit” for a shrink-sleeve label produced for the limited edition of the Stock Prestige Grand Prix vodka.
The AWA International Sleeve Label Awards 2020 judging panel praised both the premium look and feel of the label, as well as its high quality, describing it as a “beautiful example of limited editioning using high quality hybrid print technology.”
The label’s design draws inspiration from Formula 1 racing and features checkered flags and a soft-touch texture reminiscent of sport tires, which are representative of Grand Prix racing events. The effect has been further enhanced by the deep black background colour.
Chairman of the managing board of Masterpress S.A., Waldemar Zdrodowski said: “The sleeve label decorating Stock Prestige Grand Prix Limited Edition bottles defines prestige. Printing a luxurious label for a premium product has been possible through the experience of Masterpress’ R&D team who expertly selected right components and print techniques. Our close co-operation with the client at every stage of the project was an equally important element that contributed to the success. Through Masterpress’ own hybrid printing technology, the company was able to deliver a printed shrink sleeve label with superb consistency of the deep black and soft-touch matte varnish over the entire bottle, with exceptional quality in the high-shrink areas as well as improved scratch resistance.
AWA International Sleeve Label Awards, held annually since 2015, is an international packaging competition, where only shrink-sleeve labels are judged. It is organized by AWA Alexander Watson Associates, a consulting company providing market research data, analyses and consulting services to the packaging industry.
