Vaassen has created a new aluminium laminate lid for a range of premium desserts produced by Gü. Vaassen Flexible Packaging was commissioned by Gü to create a silver foil lid with one-colour black printing to deliver the highest preservation protection features alongside easy opening capabilities. Vaassen, renowned for its product/process expertise and innovation skills, developed a tailor-made solution for Gü’s consideration. The result is a specially engineered aluminium base lid with HDPE sealant creating an easy-peel lid in a highly attractive finish.

In addition, sauce and condiment producers are benefiting from a new concept in induction seal liners that increases efficiency and speeds up the product to market process thanks to a new product innovation introduced by Vaassen Flexible Packaging (VFP). It has developed a new concept that challenges the traditional foil-based four layer laminate seal comprising of PET, foamed PE, aluminium and a seal layer, by replacing the PET and PE with a single layer of PET50. The new VFP foil acts as an inlay to the screw cap of sauce bottles to ensure pack integrity, tamper evidence and product freshness. Once the bottle is filled, the screw cap is applied and by induction sealing, the alufoil-based liner is sealed to the bottle. The PET50 successfully provides sufficient isolation to avoid melting the screw cap in the sealing process and it also achieves the traditional purpose of the foam layer, to provide rigidity.
