Olbrich GmbH strengthens management team

The machinery and plant manufacturer has appointed Esa-Matti Aalto to the role of chief sales officer (CSO), where he will be responsible for the service and sales department for the company based in Bocholt, Germany.

The appointment of Mr Aalto further strengthens the existing Olbrich management team, which comprises CEO Bastian Kuhl and CTO Rolf Langkamp.

Prior to this, Mr Aalto was managing director of Olbrich’s subsidiary, Polytype Converting and it is anticipated that his move will deepen the close cooperation that already exists between the two companies.

Bastian Kuhl and Rolf Langkamp said: “This is a significant step to strengthen the international project business of the complementary business fields of Olbrich and Polytype under one joint management. We are very pleased that we have gained Esa-Matti Aalto for these tasks. As a ‘real‘, smoothly-cooperating team, we will now drive the strategic expansion of the international business development forward for both companies all the more successfully.”

Esa-Matti Aalto is grateful for getting the chance to help the company shape a common future under these changed conditions. He explained: “Our aim is to make better use than before of existing structures and to use them for a sustainable expansion of our market position. Our customers will benefit from synergies from our flexible and globally present manufacturing and service organisation, but also from unique research and development centres in Germany and Switzerland, where we develop future-oriented technologies for more than 50 sectors and market segments.”

Esa-Matti Aalto, 45 years old, has been active in the machinery and plant manufacturing for almost 20 years; 12 years of which he spent working in the group of companies around Polytype Converting and Olbrich. In 2008 he moved from Voith Paper to Pagendarm BTT, which was at that time, a 100% subsidiary of Polytype Converting AG. Here he first acted as sales and business development manager, before taking up the role of managing director in 2011.

In April 2016, Mr Aalto moved to Olbrich CTH, where he was appointed sales and business development director. In the course of the transition to the newly-founded Polytype Converting GmbH, he took over the management of the operative business in the field of sales and commercial operations in 2017 and, two years later, was finally appointed to the board of directors at Polytype Converting as MD.
