WIPAK wins FlexoTech 2012 Print Award
At first time of entering Wipak has won the best print award in the Wide Web flexible packaging category of the FlexoTech 2012 Print Awards held at the London Hilton Metropole hotel in October and presented by footballer Kevin Keegan. Print and lamination manager Geoff Moors and printer Aide 0’Connell accepted the award on behalf of Wipak UK.
Tough competition came from Euroflex TEO, JV Uniflex, Paragon Print & Packaging and Amcor Flexible Packaging but Wipak UKÂ won day with an impressive sample titled Orkney Mature Coloured Scottish Cheddar for valued customer Lactalis-McClelland.
The award-winning print was produced on Wipak’s latest press from Flexotecnica, a 10XG (10 colour CI press with in-line registered flexo coating unit) installed at the end on 2011. The print was 8 colours reverse printed with a registered surface matt lacquer on 12 micron BOPA (Nylon) substrate produced at one of Wipak’s partner sites in Finland. Printed with DuPont continuous polymer sleeves with high dDefinition 150 line screening, it was reproduced by PPP Digital Imaging using Sun Passion XP Inks from Sun Chemical and 1200# iPro anilox sleeves from Sandon.
