Domino Digital Printing Solutions had a great start to drupa 2016 after its N610i seven-colour digital label press won the category of Best Label Printer at the EDP Awards ceremony, which took place on the second day of the show last week.

The European Digital Press (EDP) Association represents 20 member magazines across Europe. Their prestigious annual awards, which attracted 150 submissions across 60 different categories, recognise innovation and quality, as well as assessing aspects such as value to the user, support and service capabilities.

Philip Easton, director at Domino Digital Printing Solutions, said: “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award after beating off some stiff competition and with the adjudicators recognising our low cost of ownership. The N610i has attracted a lot of international visitors to our stand at drupa, but we are confident that it will now receive even more interest after winning this latest accolade.”

With over 50 units installed at label printers throughout the world, the Domino N610i operates at speeds of up to 75 metres per minute (246 feet per minute) and has a native print resolution of 600dpi. The seven-colour press uses high impact UV curable inks including a highly opaque screen-like white, and enables over 90 per cent of the Pantone range to be printed.

Easton concluded: “We continue to show how ink jet can innovate and add value for our customers. This award recognises the key attributes of our label press and highlights why so many small, medium and large multi-national label printers are now choosing Domino as their preferred digital partner.”

There are still a few days left to see the N610i in action with its latest ‘Textures by Domino’ print solution at the Domino stand, Hall 5 Stand A23.
